Downtown Tampa engagement session – Tampa wedding photographer – www.evaphotostudio.com

We love photographing engagement sessions. They are a great chance for us to spend some time with the couples that we will be photographing their weddings in a few months. These sessions are a lot of fun and everyone is very relaxed, especially because there aren’t any critical deadlines like there are on the day of the wedding. So as we left our studio for the session, we were super excited. That excitement slowly changed to worry as we neared downtown Tampa. The pretty fluffy white clouds that we had seen when we left, had now turned dark and we could see that it was starting to pour. The downpour continued after we parked and the start of our session was approaching. We worried that perhaps Kristen and Gus might decide to cancel or want to reschedule. Luckily for us, these summer storms don’t last all day and generally clear up after less than an hour. This was the case on this evening and we were able to start just a few minutes after our original start time.

As it turned out, the rain made it much more comfortable to photograph. It cooled down the temperatures and it wasn’t quite as humid. It also allowed us to bring out a large colorful umbrella for some of the early pictures. Kristen and Gus are such a cool couple. They were ready to follow us anywhere for pictures. They also are such a fun couple. They were constantly playing around and laughing. We started at the Glazer Children’s Museum and worked our way towards the Tampa Museum of Art. We played around the fountains at the Curtis Hixon Park before exploring other parts of downtown Tampa. These are some of our favorite shots from the session. Kristen and Gus had no fear and they had no problem stepping into the fountain area for some really romantic pictures. As experienced Tampa wedding photographers, we love when our couples can relax and their true personalities can shine. This was certainly the case with Kristen and Gus. The entire evening was a lot of fun and we are really looking forward to October when we get to photograph their fantastic wedding!

Video – Bogota destination wedding – Bogota wedding photographer

Here is the video of all of our favorite images from the beautiful wedding of Juan David and Marcela. The wedding took place in Bogota, Colombia. We loved all of the gorgeous fresh flowers which decorated the entire venue. The chapel, the reception hall and pathways were all decorated in fresh flowers and it was magical. We love these type of destination weddings and can’t wait until we get another opportunity to photograph another amazing wedding like this one.

The beautiful bride (Marcela) is seen below in the moments prior to the ceremony.

Destination wedding – Bogota, Colombia – Bogota wedding photographer

This is the second series of images from the destination wedding we photographed in Bogota, Colombia. It was such a beautiful wedding. Everything took place just 30 minutes outside of Bogota, at the Hacienda Pozo Chico. The hacienda had a backdrop of lovely fields and mountains off in the distance, which made for some stunning images. Marcela got prepared in a beautiful bedroom that had a balcony that overlooked the entire Hacienda. We took some great images of her getting ready and once she was fully dressed, Juan David came upstairs and greeted his beautiful fiance with a big kiss and a very loving embrace. He then proceeded to escort Marcela downstairs and across the grounds to the beautiful chapel where they would exchange their vows.

The ceremony itself was unlike anything else we have seen before. It was a beautiful mix of western and eastern influenced wedding styles. The ceremony took place inside a gorgeous round chapel that was staggered downward in various levels. Each seating level was decorated with candles and beautiful fresh flowers throughout. Juan David and Marcela were truly surrounded by all of their friends and family. They exchanged personalized vows and were treated to some romantic music by the three piece ensemble that was set up just behind them.

After the ceremony, everyone headed back to the main Hacienda where dinner would be served by white gloved servers and in choreographed precision. As each course was brought out, the waiters would encircle the table and wait for the head waiter/waitress to lower their right hand to signal that all the plates should be set on the table in unison. It was like watching synchronized dancers moving in and out of tables. Implecable service and attention to detail. After the dinner service, the DJ kicked off the music and everyone danced until the early morning! As professional Tampa wedding photographers, we love it when we get the opportunity to travel outside of Florida and photograph in exotic locations like this one. We want to thank Juan David and Marcela for allowing us the opportunity to capture these beautiful images of their special wedding day. We had a fantastic time and really appreciated your hospitality.

International destination wedding – Bogota wedding photographer

The following are some of our favorite images from the pre-wedding and preparations for the recent destination wedding we photographed in Bogota, Colombia. We flew down early on Saturday and got a good nights sleep before arriving on Sunday to the ceremony/reception site. Juan David and Marcela arranged to have their ceremony and reception at the beautiful Hacienda Pozo Chico which is located about 30 minutes outside of Bogota. What an amazing location!!! The views of the surrounding mountains and countryside were stunning. The grounds were beautifully decorated with many gorgeous flowers and the entire place had a very sophisticated charm! As professional Tampa wedding photographers, we are used to photographing some of the best locations in Central Florida but it is always a treat to photograph at new and exciting international locations too!

As you will see, Marcela was such a beautiful bride and such a pleasure to work with. As an artist herself, she allowed us full freedom to photograph her wedding in our own style. We were given full access to the grounds and chapel. We are extremely grateful to Juan David and Marcela for allowing us to share in their special day and giving us the opportunity to capture the special moments of their beautiful wedding day for them to treasure for a lifetime. The entire wedding was incredibly beautiful and we can’t wait to post more pictures of the ceremony and reception soon.

Alyssa and Brandon – Tampa wedding photographer – www.evaphotostudio.com

Little girls grow up dreaming of finding a prince charming and then having a fairy tale wedding. We have visual evidence that sometimes these fantasy stories really do come true. And to top things off, this young couple are two of the nicest people you could ever want to meet! We met Brandon and Alyssa at their local Starbucks, which was located near their home. Normally, we purchase the coffee drinks for our clients but Brandon insisted that he be the one to treat us to drinks. After Brandon returned with drinks, we sat down and had a wonderful conversation and listened to the amazing story of how they met. As they told their story, you could just feel the warm glow of their amazing love for each other. After only a few minutes with them, we felt a great connection with them and were already looking forward to photographing their beautiful love story and upcoming wedding. We were so honored when they told us that they wanted to sign the contract right there and we started making plans for their wedding day right away. A few days after our meeting, we drove to Tampa and scouted both of their wedding day locations. We made mental notes of all of the great ideas we had and emailed Alyssa and Brandon to share with them. The day of the wedding, everyone was super nice and gave us a lot of freedom to get the images that we wanted to capture.

Below are some of our favorite images from the fairy tale wedding of Brandon and Alyssa!

David & Danielle – 1 year anniversary – Tampa wedding photographers

We just photographed an amazing one year anniversary photo session for Danielle and David. We cannot not believe that one year has already passed since their beautiful wedding at the University of South Florida last March. It feels like only yesterday when we were photographing them on that chilly March day. What a difference one year makes. Last year, the temperatures were in the 40’s but this year it was nice and warm.
During our planning discussions with Danielle, she mentioned that she wanted to capture some beautiful images of her and David. Unfortunately, on the day of her wedding it was just too cold and after braving the cold for the outdoor ceremony, everyone was too cold to capture all of the great picture ideas that we had planned. A few minutes after the ceremony, everyone jumped on the hotel buses and headed back to the warm reception hall.

We really wanted to capture some great images for Danielle and David, so we pre-scouted several great locations in downtown Tampa prior to the scheduled photo session. We had some great ideas drawn up and it all was scheduled to start at the new Curtis Hixon waterfront park, located next to the new Glazer Children’s Museum. One of the things that you come to learn as an experienced Tampa wedding photographer, is that no matter how carefully you plan, there will always be unforeseen issues to overcome. But we are always prepared for anything! As we were nearing downtown Tampa, we got a call from Danielle informing us that there was an art show at the park. We figured that it would be a few tents spread out across the park, and that we could work around it. What we didn’t immediately figure out until we arrived, is that it was the weeked for the Raymond James Gasparilla Festival of the Arts. The Gasparilla art festival is huge!! Cars lined up for blocks to get into the parking garages and the park was completely covered in both tents and people! But because we had already scouted many locations, we were totally prepared to start photographing in some other beautiful locations. Yes, there were still lots of people but we had some amazing backdrops to work with and captured some really beautiful images. We also had the opportunity to capture some great images at the beautiful Sacred Heart Catholic Church. After spending a few hours in downtown Tampa, we decided to drive across the bay to the beach, to capture some of the beach pictures that Danielle wanted at sunset. We bought a beautiful red balloon to symbolize their first year of marriage. As always, we had a blast with Danielle and David. Two of the most down to earth and fun people you could meet. We have enjoyed many opportunities to work with them in the past. We photographed their engagement session, their wedding and now their one year anniversary session. We love working with them and hope to capture many more of their future special moments for them.

Below are just a few of our favorite images from this session.

Video – Kara & Johnnie – Tampa military wedding – Tampa wedding photographer

We created a beautiful video slideshow of our favorite images from the fantastic military wedding of Kara and Johnnie. They got married at the Hilton Tampa Airport Westshore Hotel.  Kara looked amazing in her beautiful wedding dress and Johnnie looked great in his Marine uniform.  They were so easy to photograph and their wedding was sooooo much fun!  Everyone was very nice and it was definitely an honor and a pleasure to photograph this wedding. We look forward to photographing for Kara and Johnnie again in the future.
