It is so amazing that only three weeks ago we were doing a beautiful maternity photo session for Mindy and less than three weeks later, we were photographing her little daugther. On Sunday we photographed this precious little angel. We welcomed Mindy and her sister (who was visiting from frigid Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania), and little Marli to our studio. Mindy and her sister helped us get little Marli into all of the precious little outfits and poses. Her sister was such a proud auntie, constantly “ooohing” and “aaaahing” at all of the cute poses we were capturing and giving her peeks at the images on our camera. I have a feeling that she will be making excuses to visit her sister and Marli many more times in the future.
Below are some of our favorite images from this session. For those of you that follow us on a regular basis, you will notice that we have added some wonderful new little hats and baby outfits. Added a new backdrop too. We are always looking for ways to keep our images fresh and exciting. As one of the premier Tampa baby portrait photographers, we at Eva Photo Studio are thrilled at how beautiful these images turned out and look forward to capturing more images of Marli when she returns for her 3 months, 6 months, 9 months and her 1 year baby portrait sessions. Couples always compliment us on how creative our images are and how we can possibly always have such beautiful locations to photograph. They want to know what is our secret for consistently having fresh new ideas and great backgrounds for our images. Although a lot goes into creating great images, one of the key ingredients is: lots of preparation and scouting of locations. Sure, you could show up to a location an hour early but we prefer to scout locations months in advance and often more than once. Why? Because we feel that by visiting a location with plenty of time to walk around and find unique and beautiful backgrounds is worth it. We take test pictures and take notes about which location would work best for just the bride and groom or which spot is best suited for the larger group pictures. By scouting the location prior to the event, we already have some great ideas to share with the happy couple. The day of the wedding can be very fast paced and having already thought out where to take those special images is priceless and makes the photography flow a lot smoother. As experienced Tampa wedding photographers, we have already photographed many of the most popular wedding venues in Central Florida. But for those times when we will be photographing a venue for the first time, we definitely schedule time to scout that venue prior to the wedding day.
Below are images from one of those venues. In November, we will be photographing at the beautiful Hindu Temple of Florida,which is located in Tampa. Although the wedding there won’t be until November, we scheduled some time recently to scout this location. We were totally blown away by how beautiful this temple is. As we always do when we scout a location, we took many “test” shots to get ideas of what will be the best angles to photograph from and which locations will make for the best backdrop for some gorgeous and dramatic images. We loved these test shots so much that we have decided to publish them for everyone to enjoy.

As a photographer, it is always good to constantly practice our craft and fine tune our skills. We are lucky that we have a beautiful model living with us. Yes, she is only five, but she is readily available, if not always thrilled to model for us. But promises of McDonalds or a new toy will often turn a reluctant model into a happy and willing subject!! This recent photo session had the added benefit of us trying out our newest lens. We like to buy new equipment, when we feel it will improve our pictures. We recently purchased a new Canon lens. It is the wonderful Canon 100mm f 2.8 macro lens. It is an incredibly sharp lens that we are now using to augment our portrait and wedding photography. Another benefit, that you will see in our upcoming weddings, is that this is a true macro lens. As such, we will be able to photograph small object, wedding rings in particular, with amazing detail and clarity. As a Tampa wedding photographer, we are super excited by being able to add this new tool to the other lenses we already have at our disposal. We have already been testing those macro capabilities with flowers, small rings, coins and other small objects. It is amazing how much detail this lens captures and you won’t ever look at small things in the same way again after shooting in macro mode!
The images below showcase some of our recent work with our new lens. Again, we love the sharpness of the images that this lens produces. In the coming weeks we will try to publish some macro images that will showcase the amazing ability of this lens to capture the smallest details of even the smallest objects. As a Tampa family portrait photographer, we are always pushing ourselves to always deliver new and creative images, using the latest tools and technology at our disposal. This has been a busy month for maternity portrait sessions. We just did another lovely maternity portrait session with Mindy. We were very excited to photograph this session and spent many days preparing and dreaming up some great ideas, both indoors and outdoors. Unfortunately it rained and was very cold the day of the session, so we had to photograph entirely indoors. Luckily, we still had a lot of great ideas and Mindy was very open to try all of the posing suggestions. We spent a few hours doing a lot of different poses and talking about a variety of different things. Time just seems to fly when we photograph our clients.
We were able to talk a lot about her pregnancy and booked a baby session once her little angel is born. She doesn’t want to know if it is a boy or a girl until the day of the birth. This is so exciting, as we are really looking forward to finding out if we will be photographing a little boy or a little girl. As a Tampa maternity portrait photographer, it is so exciting to capture these beautiful mothers as they prepare for their newborns, and later to photograph those little ones and watch them grow up. We wish her a safe pregancy and look forward to seeing her and her little angel very soon. In the meantime, we have captured many beautiful images from her pregnancy that she will be able to treasure forever and pass on to her little one later on.
This past Sunday we photographed a wonderful maternity session. Prior to the session, we scouted several locations and came up with a lot of great ideas. We really wanted some beautiful outdoor images, along with some studio images. Luckily the weather on Sunday was very nice. Not too cold or too hot, just about perfect. We first headed out to a nearby lake and field to take some pictures with her in the first outfit. These pictures turned out great, especially the ones with the black outfit flowing beautifully in the afternoon breeze. As a Tampa maternity portrait photographer, we couldn’t have asked for a better model. Kristen was so easy to work with, and although she swore she has never modeled before, she was incredibly at ease in front of the camera and was always happy to try out all of our suggested poses and ideas.
After some time at the first location, we headed out to the second location where we trekked into a wooded area that had a nice open area, completely surround by trees. The afternoon sun shone through the trees and created some magical images. Some of our favorite images were taken during this part of the session.
After finishing the outdoor shots, we headed back to the studio. We picked up some snacks and prior to taking more pictures, just sat around eating and getting to know Kristen better. Soon afterwards, we started taking pictures in our studio. We captured a lot of great images that afternoon, too many to add to this posting. Below are just a few of our favorite images. We wish Kristen a continued safe pregnancy and look forward to seeing her beautiful little angel, after he is born.
This is a wedding we recently photographed at the beautiful A La Carte Event Pavilion located in Tampa, FL. Having already photographed their engagement session a few months back, we had already established a great relationship with Ermy and Von. We were looking forward to their wedding, as we knew how much fun they both were and knew that their wedding would be a pleasure to photograph.
We arrived at the venue early (as we always like to do) and started getting photos of all of the arrangements and little details throughout the venue. Everything was set up beautifully and looked very elegant. This venue has so many great and unique photo opportunities, that we just couldn’t wait for the happy couple to arrive. Once they arrived, we started photographing as the bride and groom started getting ready for the ceremony. As you will see, everything turned out perfectly and the day went off without any issues. This is a tribute to the amazing staff at the A La Carte Event Pavilion. We have photographed at a lot of venues, but everybody from this venue was top notch and incredibly helpful and friendly. In particular, we have to shine the spotlight on Lindsay Jimison (the wedding & events planner) who was constantly checking to make sure that everything was perfect for the bride and groom and still found time to check with us to see if there was anything that we needed to make our jobs easier. There were times where we thought that maybe she had a twin, because it seemed like she was in so many places at the same time!
After the ceremony, we took the bride and groom to several beautiful locations within the venue and later we went to take some pictures with the great fountain and garden area located at the front of the venue. As a Tampa wedding photographer, you really can’t ask for more: a great looking couple, an amazing venue, and a gorgeous fall day! Add everything up and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect wedding.

Video slideshow of our recent wedding at the gorgeous Plantation Golf Resort & Spa located in Crystal River, Florida. We spent the entire day with the bride and groom, and managed to capture how much fun they had during the entire day. Sean woke up early to go golfing with his buddies and Annette spent the morning at the Southern Hills spa getting pampered with her daughters.
Although cold, everyone had a blast and the day was a truly magical experience!
This is a some images from the wonderful family portrait session we did with one of our regular clients. Normally we photograph just the little ones, but this time we got the honor of doing family portraits as well as baby portraits. They are such a wonderful family and we always look forward to seeing Esthela and her family.
The pictures turned out so beautiful that they ordered several hundred of our custom, press printed baby announcement cards as well as holiday cards. Being a Trinity, Florida portrait photographer is so rewarding, but seeing how happy and proud the parents are after seeing the final images…..we like the famous credit card commercial says…..PRICELESS!!!!
As the holidays rapidly approach, we have been very busy shooting lots of holiday family and baby sessions. The following images are from a session we did for Mina and consisted of photographing her two beautiful sons. We had photographed the youngest, Stavros, several months earlier for his baptism. It was great to see him again and see how much he has grown. He is still incredibly adorable!
The session got off to a slow start as Stavros started crying uncontrollably. Mina told us that he is very afraid of doctors and since he was in a new place (our studio) he was scared that this was a visit to a doctors office. We work with babies and kids a lot, so we know that you have to be very patient with them and allow them to get comfortable with the studio environment. When Stavros still wasn’t comfortable after 10-20 minutes, we decided that it might be best if we left the studio for a nearby park. Once we got there, Stavros and his brother started running around and being very playful. We chased after them and got some fantastic pictures of them in front of a Christmas manger scene, a beautiful oak tree and of course a fantastic Christmas tree that had a lot of wonderful decorations. After about a half hour of outdoor shooting, we headed back to the studio. By now, both of the boys were very comfortable with us and we were able to get some really beautiful images inside the studio.
We are so happy with the results of the photo shoot. Mina also loved these pictures and ordered some beautiful , press printed holiday cards that were specially designed for her by Eva Photo Studio. It was a pleasure working with Mina and her two sons. We hope that everyone enjoys their holidays and we look forward to seeing everyone again in the new year!
