Family portrait session – Vero Beach wedding photographer

We just recently drove out to the east coast of Florida (Vero Beach) to photograph a beautiful family portrait session for one of our upcoming brides. What is so exciting about this is that we photographed her sister’s wedding last year and Ashleigh loved our work so much that she hired us to capture the many precious memories and her upcoming wedding. We have been looking forward to meeting her entire family and we very happy to drive out to photograph the family. We were also very happy that when we got there, it was a beautiful Florida spring day where it wasn’t yet too hot or humid. Ashleigh picked a beautiful location for the family portrait session. Humiston Park is located right next to the beach with the beautiful Atlantic Ocean creating a great backdrop to many of our images.

We had a lot of fun with the entire family and in particular with the two oldest girls, who we were told were looking forward to “picture day” for several weeks. Ashleigh said that they had been practicing their poses and picking out some cute outfits. They were so much fun to photograph and were constantly joking around with everyone. As an experienced Tampa wedding photographer it is always a nice change of pace when we get a chance to photograph outside of our home market. It is always great to explore new places and use some new exciting locations. Driving out to Vero Beach along a scenic two lane highway was very relaxing and discovering how beautiful the Vero Beach area was an added bonus. We certainly are looking forward to driving back for the upcoming wedding!!

First Baptist Church of Orlando wedding – Orlando wedding photographer

We just had the honor of photographing a beautiful wedding in Orlando. The wedding was very beautiful but getting there was truly an adventure. The traffic on I-4 was busy as we left Tampa (nothing too unusual about that) but things got really interesting as we got closer to Orlando and found out that there had been a serious accident on I-4 which caused ALL of the eastbound lanes to be closed for several hours. Traffic was backed up for miles and miles. As experienced Tampa wedding photographers used to photographing throughout the state of Florida, we always leave for all of our weddings and events several hours early. The fact that I-4 was closed was more of an inconvenience than a concern. After detouring south and taking an extra hour to get to Orlando, we arrived at the wedding location two hours prior to the start time. The wedding took place at the First Baptist Church of Orlando. We were impressed by how large the church and grounds are. As we pulled into the complex, we noticed signs for an athletic complex, a school, the main church, two chapels, and multiple halls and events centers. This place is HUGE!! We ended up driving around two or three times before we finally got our bearings and got familiar with our new surroundings, we found where Monica and James were getting married and loved the beautiful elegance of the chapel. We walked around the entire campus looking for some great locations and found several.

Monica and James were a pleasure to work with and we got some really great shots of them during the pre-wedding and the formals after the ceremony. Everyone involved was very friendly and laughing a ton, which makes it a lot easier for us to capture great images. The reception was very nice and there was a live band, which is always a great treat at weddings. Everyone had a lot of fun and the entire event was very well organized and flowed very smoothly. Not all events run this smoothly, and as experienced Orlando wedding photographers, we have to congratulate Aura Wedding and Event Design for putting together such a beautiful wedding event. We worked with Asha in the weeks leading up to the event and she was always quick to respond to all of our inquiries as we prepared for this wedding. We definitely look forward to working with Asha and her team on many more future events in Orlando and in Tampa. We wish Monica and James a long and happy marriage and also look forward to capturing many more of their important life events in the years to come!

Video – University of South Florida engagement session – www.evaphotostudio.com

Here is a video slideshow of some of our favorite images from the engagement session we photographed for Lindsay and Jason. We we photographed at the USF Botanical Gardens and the University of South Florida campus. We had a great time with them and can’t wait to see them again soon.

University of South Florida engagement session – Tampa wedding photographers

The following images are from an engagement session we did about 10 days ago. We met Lindsay a few weeks prior and had a great time getting to know her. Her fiancé could not be there for our first meeting, so we were really looking forward to meeting him for the engagement session. Lindsay and Jason met during one of their classes at the University of South Florida, so they wanted for us to photograph their engagement session on the campus. Having photographed at USF several times, we knew that there were several great locations where we could get some amazing images. However, as experienced Tampa wedding photographers, we are never satisfied to just do the same thing over and over, so we planned a scouting trip to the campus prior to the session. We were glad we did. We found several new spots that somehow we hadn’t stumbled on before. That is one the things that continues to excite us about photography. No matter how many times you photograph the same location, we always find new and exciting ways to photograph it.

We met up with Lindsay and Jason around 3:30PM at the beautiful USF Botanical Gardens. Being spring time, the weather was fantastic. Upon starting we were pleasantly surprised by how comfortable Jason was in front of the camera. Guys sometimes take some time to warm up to having their pictures taken but Jason was great from the very beginning. These two make such a great couple and we had a ton of fun with them. We walked all over the campus, talking, laughing, stopping at Starbucks for coffee and taking some great images. One of the things we loved about this session was how much we laughed during the session; especially when at one point when we were getting ready to drive to a new location and realized that we had lost our car keys!! Luckily we were able to backtrack to the most recent location and found them relatively quickly. All in all, we all had a really great time and we can’t wait to see these guys again. We are sure that it will be another fun and memorable experience!!

Aiden is here!!! Tampa baby portrait photographer

We just had another opportunity to capture some amazing images of a newborn baby for a mom that we had also done a maternity session for. What is so wonderful about these sessions is that we get to know the mom very well prior to and after the baby is born. We get to share in the excitement and anticipation prior to the baby being born and then all of the beauty and awe of seeing that little angel after they are born. As I photograph the baby, I am often thinking to myself what an amazing miracle this little baby is and how lucky I am to share in this experience with all of these special moms! I am honored to be able to capture such precious memories for them and which will become a cherished family heirloom for generations to come.

Photographing Kristen and her baby has been a joy. Kristen is such a nice person and just has a natural beauty and presence in front of the camera. She is very relaxed and easy to work with. Originally when we did her maternity session and suggested mixing outdoor locations and the studio shoot, she just went with it! This time was no different. She loved all of the ideas we had for photographing little Aiden. We got some great images of him in many cute poses, props and outfits. We also got some very beautiful images of mom and son that are just so beautiful to look at. You can just see how much she loves Aiden and how precious he is to her. As experienced Tampa newborn photographers, we love when we can connect with our subjects and follow their precious journey through their pregnancy and then through motherhood and the many stages that their newborn child will go through. We are already looking forward to seeing little Aiden again in a few months!

Sandpearl Resort wedding – Clearwater Beach wedding photographer

We were recently surfing the internet, revisiting some of the websites for past venues that we have photographed at.  When we stopped to check out the Sandpearl Resort website, we noticed that they had recently done a whole new redesign of their site.  We really liked the new layout and started checking out a lot of the new pages within the site. When we reached the wedding pages, we were VERY HAPPY to see that they selected two of our images from a wedding we photographed there on April 9, 2010.   The Sandpearl Resort provided a beautiful backdrop to this fairy tale wedding.

As an experienced Tampa wedding photographers, we love photographing at the many beautiful venues located throughout the Tampa, Clearwater, St. Petersburg, and Sarasota area. It is such an honor, when one of these great venues selects our images to show off the beauty of their site. We want to thank everyone at the Sandpearl Resort for selecting our images and we look forward to photographing many more weddings at your beautiful hotel in the near future. If anyone is looking to get married on the beach and at a world class hotel resort, we highly recommend the Sandpearl Resort.  The hotel is incredibly beautiful and the staff is very friendly and accomodating.  They will do whatever they can to make your experience there, the very best it can be!

Below are the images that  the Sandpearl Resort selected to use on their website:

There were many more beautiful images from that wedding.  To see how beautiful the wedding and the Sandpearl Resort are, just check out the video below:

David & Danielle – 1 year anniversary – Tampa wedding photographers

We just photographed an amazing one year anniversary photo session for Danielle and David. We cannot not believe that one year has already passed since their beautiful wedding at the University of South Florida last March. It feels like only yesterday when we were photographing them on that chilly March day. What a difference one year makes. Last year, the temperatures were in the 40’s but this year it was nice and warm.
During our planning discussions with Danielle, she mentioned that she wanted to capture some beautiful images of her and David. Unfortunately, on the day of her wedding it was just too cold and after braving the cold for the outdoor ceremony, everyone was too cold to capture all of the great picture ideas that we had planned. A few minutes after the ceremony, everyone jumped on the hotel buses and headed back to the warm reception hall.

We really wanted to capture some great images for Danielle and David, so we pre-scouted several great locations in downtown Tampa prior to the scheduled photo session. We had some great ideas drawn up and it all was scheduled to start at the new Curtis Hixon waterfront park, located next to the new Glazer Children’s Museum. One of the things that you come to learn as an experienced Tampa wedding photographer, is that no matter how carefully you plan, there will always be unforeseen issues to overcome. But we are always prepared for anything! As we were nearing downtown Tampa, we got a call from Danielle informing us that there was an art show at the park. We figured that it would be a few tents spread out across the park, and that we could work around it. What we didn’t immediately figure out until we arrived, is that it was the weeked for the Raymond James Gasparilla Festival of the Arts. The Gasparilla art festival is huge!! Cars lined up for blocks to get into the parking garages and the park was completely covered in both tents and people! But because we had already scouted many locations, we were totally prepared to start photographing in some other beautiful locations. Yes, there were still lots of people but we had some amazing backdrops to work with and captured some really beautiful images. We also had the opportunity to capture some great images at the beautiful Sacred Heart Catholic Church. After spending a few hours in downtown Tampa, we decided to drive across the bay to the beach, to capture some of the beach pictures that Danielle wanted at sunset. We bought a beautiful red balloon to symbolize their first year of marriage. As always, we had a blast with Danielle and David. Two of the most down to earth and fun people you could meet. We have enjoyed many opportunities to work with them in the past. We photographed their engagement session, their wedding and now their one year anniversary session. We love working with them and hope to capture many more of their future special moments for them.

Below are just a few of our favorite images from this session.
