Florida destination wedding – Palm Coast wedding photographer – www.evaphotostudio.com

We love destination weddings. Being in Florida we get our fair share of them. People love to come down to our beautiful state and have their wedding here. They then either continue their honeymoon here or use Florida as a launching pad to their honeymoon. We recently photographed a beautiful destination wedding for Joanna and Michael. They live in Memphis, Tennessee but drove down to Florida to have their wedding in the gorgeous Palm Coast area. The wedding was held in the scenic Washington Oaks Gardens State Park. The park is absolutely gorgeous and provided us with many incredible photo locations. There were bridges that spanned many little canals and small lakes. There were many tree covered foot paths, and beautiful garden areas. There was a rose garden with a wide variety of fragrant and colorful roses. Just past the rose garden, there were some fantastic views of the waterfront and an old home from the early 20th century. Joanna and Michael were blessed with some gorgeous Florida weather too. July in Florida can be sweltering but on this day, the temperatures were in the mid to low 80’s and the humidity levels were very low. It really felt like a nice autumn day instead of the middle of summer.

To complement the romantic natural setting, the couple had hired a harpist who played some very beautiful music for them to get married to and later to help entertain at their reception. After the ceremony and the formals, we drove a little less than 5 minutes to the beautiful Hammock Beach mansion that the family had rented for the reception and the rest of their Florida stay. Everyone enjoyed the delicious food and drinks that were served and the lovely music that the harpist played during the reception. The entire day and evening was magical and we are so happy to have shared it with this great couple. We wish Joanna and Michael a lifetime of married bliss!

Downtown Tampa engagement session – Tampa wedding photographer – www.evaphotostudio.com

We love photographing engagement sessions. They are a great chance for us to spend some time with the couples that we will be photographing their weddings in a few months. These sessions are a lot of fun and everyone is very relaxed, especially because there aren’t any critical deadlines like there are on the day of the wedding. So as we left our studio for the session, we were super excited. That excitement slowly changed to worry as we neared downtown Tampa. The pretty fluffy white clouds that we had seen when we left, had now turned dark and we could see that it was starting to pour. The downpour continued after we parked and the start of our session was approaching. We worried that perhaps Kristen and Gus might decide to cancel or want to reschedule. Luckily for us, these summer storms don’t last all day and generally clear up after less than an hour. This was the case on this evening and we were able to start just a few minutes after our original start time.

As it turned out, the rain made it much more comfortable to photograph. It cooled down the temperatures and it wasn’t quite as humid. It also allowed us to bring out a large colorful umbrella for some of the early pictures. Kristen and Gus are such a cool couple. They were ready to follow us anywhere for pictures. They also are such a fun couple. They were constantly playing around and laughing. We started at the Glazer Children’s Museum and worked our way towards the Tampa Museum of Art. We played around the fountains at the Curtis Hixon Park before exploring other parts of downtown Tampa. These are some of our favorite shots from the session. Kristen and Gus had no fear and they had no problem stepping into the fountain area for some really romantic pictures. As experienced Tampa wedding photographers, we love when our couples can relax and their true personalities can shine. This was certainly the case with Kristen and Gus. The entire evening was a lot of fun and we are really looking forward to October when we get to photograph their fantastic wedding!

Video – Bogota destination wedding – Bogota wedding photographer

Here is the video of all of our favorite images from the beautiful wedding of Juan David and Marcela. The wedding took place in Bogota, Colombia. We loved all of the gorgeous fresh flowers which decorated the entire venue. The chapel, the reception hall and pathways were all decorated in fresh flowers and it was magical. We love these type of destination weddings and can’t wait until we get another opportunity to photograph another amazing wedding like this one.

The beautiful bride (Marcela) is seen below in the moments prior to the ceremony.

Video – One year anniversary session – Tampa wedding photographer

We have been so busy over the past six months that we just now realized that although we posted images of this amazing photo session, we forgot to upload the video slideshow. For this session, we photographed throughout the downtown Tampa area. We started off at the Curtis Hixon Park which is located right next to the Glazer Children’s Museum and the new Tampa Museum of Art. After taking some amazing shots there, we headed over to another part of downtown, before finishing our our Tampa shots at the amazing Sacred Heart Catholic Church. From there we crossed the bay to photograph some beautiful sunset images at Honeymoon Island State Park located in Dunedin, Florida.

As Tampa wedding photographers, we are so lucky to have so many beautiful locations at our disposal. We had a lot of fun spending the afternoon with David and Danielle. We loved the fact that we got the chance to mix some cool urban images with the romantic photos we captured at sunset. We look forward to working with David and Danielle sometime in the future.

Destination wedding – Bogota, Colombia – Bogota wedding photographer

This is the second series of images from the destination wedding we photographed in Bogota, Colombia. It was such a beautiful wedding. Everything took place just 30 minutes outside of Bogota, at the Hacienda Pozo Chico. The hacienda had a backdrop of lovely fields and mountains off in the distance, which made for some stunning images. Marcela got prepared in a beautiful bedroom that had a balcony that overlooked the entire Hacienda. We took some great images of her getting ready and once she was fully dressed, Juan David came upstairs and greeted his beautiful fiance with a big kiss and a very loving embrace. He then proceeded to escort Marcela downstairs and across the grounds to the beautiful chapel where they would exchange their vows.

The ceremony itself was unlike anything else we have seen before. It was a beautiful mix of western and eastern influenced wedding styles. The ceremony took place inside a gorgeous round chapel that was staggered downward in various levels. Each seating level was decorated with candles and beautiful fresh flowers throughout. Juan David and Marcela were truly surrounded by all of their friends and family. They exchanged personalized vows and were treated to some romantic music by the three piece ensemble that was set up just behind them.

After the ceremony, everyone headed back to the main Hacienda where dinner would be served by white gloved servers and in choreographed precision. As each course was brought out, the waiters would encircle the table and wait for the head waiter/waitress to lower their right hand to signal that all the plates should be set on the table in unison. It was like watching synchronized dancers moving in and out of tables. Implecable service and attention to detail. After the dinner service, the DJ kicked off the music and everyone danced until the early morning! As professional Tampa wedding photographers, we love it when we get the opportunity to travel outside of Florida and photograph in exotic locations like this one. We want to thank Juan David and Marcela for allowing us the opportunity to capture these beautiful images of their special wedding day. We had a fantastic time and really appreciated your hospitality.
